Part I
A concerning thought, has just occurred to me. With the end of 2024 almost at hand and with so many years of rescue behind us, this thought alone has caused me to ponder WHATS NEXT?..
Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary, MARS for the short version, (always makes check writing easier for donors), needs to look at our 2025 plans and goals. Although I must heartily confess, sometimes, we have to FLY by the seat of our pants, (pardon the pun) and deal with whatever comes at us. Rescue life can be extremely unpredictable with what and when and how it delivers many of these challenges. 2024 had its share of ups and downs. Happily I can now say, we weathered all very well.
2023 however was a year that proved to be tougher than most on all of us. A rescue that still weighs heavily in all our memories. MARS past too, contains equally difficult rescues. Hopefully someday, those stories can be shared here on marsparrots.org. Perhaps, and I smile when I say this, I can clear my path to retire.
Wishing you all Happy Holidays and a very Merry and Bright New Year. Thank you for reading.
