All in all, we are really glad we joined in on this event. Everything M.A.R.S. goes out there to do is raising awareness for our organization, and learning about others in our community. From what we learned, last years attendence for the Shiver me Timbers Run was really successful, this years not so well attended. David, aka Red Legs Greaves, his sidekick Kosh and our volunteer Linda, joined me here at M.A.R.S. about 7:30 and we all headed to the facility in the South Beaches. The race start time was 8:00
The beautiful facility is well suited to holding a wide variety of venues. The parking area is gigantic, and easily entered and exited. Yes, you can tell I am hoping Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary can hold one there in the near future.
We would all definitely like to extend our thanks to the Brevard County Parks and Rec team for letting M.A.R.S. come aboard for the run. Hopefully next year will bring warmer weather and a better turn out, so unlike this years run, all who attend will not be shivering in their timbers.
