Those Magnificent Macaws

Every once in a while Macaws come into Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary that were someones loved and valued pets. We have learned that so many circumstances can lead to the necessity for surrendering an avian to  M.A.R.S.

Some of those reasons we now understand, are primarily life changes. Divorce, death, sickness, and simply the inability in certain situations to continue to provide care for an animal. Obviously many species of animals in this day and age fall into this and become victims of these circumstances, and to numerous others not mentioned above.

It is our hope here at M.A.R.S. to facilitate adoptions to new homes with loving caring people. Many times we repeat that we are a no-fault rescue, so if at first we don’t succeed then we all keep trying till the right match is achieved.

Pictured above are three of  M.A.R.S. Macaws available for adoption. Countess (Tessa), a Scarlett Macaw, Isabella (Izzy) a Catalina Macaw and Molly a Military Macaw.

Please if you are considering adding a Macaw to your family always consider adoption first. We will work with you at all times as conversation about their personalities can be most helpful when going through the process. The information you provide to us on the required adoption forms also gives us insight into suggesting the right bird for your situation.

We also invite you to keep up with all the goings on here at M.A.R.S..View pictures of  our adoptable birds. Keep up with updates on our adoptions. And just for fun, view albums of the day to day activities and the visitors who join us here on our open to the public days. All available on Florida Parrot Rescue M.A.R.S. on Facebook.

Above all, remember, that we are a  public funded rescue that depends on all your donations and support to care for all the exotics that come into M.A.R.S.. Without all of your continuing support, this would not be possible. Please consider a donation today right here by clicking on the donate button. Thank-you.

We do require home checks, but in some circumstances pictures will suffice if a house check is not possible

Good afternoon! I have spent quite a bit of time researching these amazing creatures and feel I am ready to welcome one to my home. I am looking for adopt a Macaw. To give him/her a loving peaceful home. I live in Wesley Chapel, FL. Own my own home. I volunteer for the Owls Nest Sanctuary and just adore wildlife and feel I would be a suitable “bird mommy”. Please tell me what you need from me.

Thank you and hoping and looking forward to giving one of your beauties a forever home.
