Bloomed a bit early this year, very surprised to see this happen. Non the less always spectacular to behold.

Thanksgiving at M.A.R.S. is for the birds, Parrots of course!
The butternut squash and pumpkin is in the oven roasting. All the parrots of our exotic bird rescue will be enjoying the delicious bounty either today or tomorrow depending on what the weather brings our way. Rain is predicted for today.
We only feed fresh foods when the birds are outside. Doing so inside would create a bug issue and we have learned through the years to not to allow that to happen.
Once again to all a Happy Thanksgiving from M.A.R.S.
The bottle or the ball? Jack the lorikeet makes a mixed decision.
Sometimes here at MARS our Florida based Parrot rescue, you simply have to stop and smell the roses as they say. In this case it is playing ball with and Lorikeet named Jack.
Ziggy an Umbrella Cockatoo heard the noise and decided to attempt to join in. Although Jack tried to coax her to play the activity was to new to her to grasp the concept of playing ball.
Exotic birds have different responses to new activities but I am convinced Jack who is an awesome ball player (when a bottle is not offered) will be a good teacher for Ziggy to learn this new way to play.
Thanks for reading and watching from all here at MELBOURNE AVIAN RESCUESANCTUARY.
Beautiful, disheveled, amazing (girl) Umbrella Cockatoo named Ziggy
We are experiencing a very windy evening here on the beaches at MARS. By now you all know that is the abbreviation for Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary. After a good day cleaning and feeding the MARS exotic birds, I invited Miss Ziggy out front for a brief time outside and it turned into a perfect photo opportunity. Hope you all enjoy.
Please remember, we need all of your help to continue doing all we do here at our nonprofit parrot rescue. You make it possible to help all those who continue to come through our doors to find new lives and new families who will love and care for them. This I can assure you is no easy undertaking. Thanks for reading. Thanks to all of you for your continued donations to our organization. Please be sure to share this to all you can reach.
Let there be DRAMA, bird drama that is.
- My “Web Master” Marc,  has given me a new way to share stories  and pictures and links of Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary , which I am hoping will allow me to be more creative and visual with my posts and not so afraid of screwing everything up when I do so. However, all ready I have erred, by creating a run on sentence. Oh well!
My all to brief Christmas get a way to Asheville, where we all converged to celebrate the season allowed me a chance to be tutored by Marc and hopefull retain some of the vast amounts of information he shared with me.
- From using this venue to do posts,  to using Instagram for attracting followers to our cause,  to direct postings to our  MARS you tube and so on. You get the idea. Increasing our followers and our viewers to our Florida Parrot Rescue MARS website is also needed for 2016.
- Now if I can just figure out how to do simple paragraphs without bullets and numbers then I suppose I will have it down. Perhaps I will try a picture right now and then get really brave and start posting adoptable birds right here as well. Wish me luck!! Cause I sure need it. ps I miss Christmas decorations already.
- And the picture of wine is just for fun. Right Janey?
