We recently did a M.A.R.S. Parrots blog titled “Those Magnificent Macaws“. The response was so good, we thought a story on our amazing Amazons up for adoption at Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary would make for a good follow up blog.
Needless to say, for all the reasons we listed for the Macaws, these also apply to the Amazons being surrendered to our Florida Parrot Rescue M.A.R.S. .
Amazons are amazing. We know most can possess quite the longevity factor. Amazons can, with proper care and diet, have many years to share with the humans who love and keep them.
It is one of our many jobs at Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary to find homes for these surrendered Amazons. The desired goal always to find the perfect match between Human and Avian. One that is successful.
With our no-fault adoption policy, if your first choice is not a compatible one, you can try again. Our adoption forms are available right here on our site under the heading “Forms”.
Please visit M.A.R.S.. Saturdays are our official adoption days. Other arrangements can be made if your schedule does not permit visiting on a Saturday.
It is our highest hope that if considering an Exotic bird, you first check out all the adoptable birds available at M.A.R.S.. Please remember the motto Adopt, don’t Shop.
All the daily goings on and pictures of our rescue birds, can be read about and viewed on our “Florida Parrot Rescue M.A.R.S.” page on Facebook. PS Yes we did put an Eclectus in the pic to see if you would notice!! (Montego) is his name, and yes he is available for adoption here at M.A.R.S.

Wait till you see the pics of the newest Amazons to arrive at M.A.R.S.. Sweetest personalities, simply great birds. They need to be adopted and find their forever homes.

More Amazons have since joined us here at M.A.R.S. They are almost ready to find their forever homes. Ask us about Marley and Kramer, and Van and Arin etc.

Awww! I love amazons. I currently own a blue fronted amazon that I adopted back in Pennsylvania. She is wonderful we bonded right away. I’m considering to adopt in the future again I am glad I found this website.
