Our Parrot Rescue M.A.R.S. located in Florida, has achieved one very important goal. Getting the word out that Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary is the number one place to consider when faced with the need to surrender your exotic bird.
However, we have yet to achieved our primary goal as the number one adoption destination in the state of Florida. We have arranged great rates at a local B&B Windemere Inn, for those of you visiting from out of the area.
Our designated outback open area for meeting and greeting the birds available for adoption here at M.A.R.S., is literally an outside one stop adoption shop. You can interact with most all our adoptable exotic birds in comfortable and pleasant surroundings. We advise you to allow some time to get to know them. The choices you have will amaze you, so do not be in a rush.
As always, we ask that you check our open and available days as they are subject to weather conditions and volunteer availability. Updates are posted on our Florida Parrot Rescue M.A.R.S. Facebook page almost on a daily basis.
M.A.R.S. has attempted to keep Pet Finder and Adopt A Pet current, but finds it impossible to do so.  Meeting the Macaws, Cockatoos, Amazons, Quakers, and numerous other parrots available for adoption, is crucial to making a good match.  Remember, M.A.R.S. is a no fault bird rescue sanctuary. If at first you don’t succeed with your choice of exotic try again. But make the decision to adopt.
If you need to schedule an appointment, contact Lu by direct e-mail, marsparrots@aol.com.
M.A.R.S.’ future and the future of all the exotic birds that come into this rescue is in all of our hands. Please make the decision today to make a donation and support our cause. PayPal, Network for Good, matching donations from your company of employment and right here by hitting our Donate button. Thank-you.

Thank you MARS for letting us adopt our sweet Whiskey!  He’s the best bird EVER and sings, dances, and says ‘hi baby’ at every opportunity – in addition to singing ‘Winnie the Pooh.” He’s our little sweetie pie and has enriched our home and family greatly! – Errol and Kathy

A few months ago, after losing one of my pet birds, I started looking into getting another companion for my African Grey, Sofia, who loves the company of other birds. Â When I found out many people were giving up their birds because of the economy, someone suggested rescue. Â I searched online for a place nearby and discovered M.A.R.S.! After several weeks of visits, I chose Charlie, an African Grey, to come home with me! Â He is so sweet and a perfect chatty addition to my home. He has adapted so well, almost as if he had always been in my home! I am so grateful to Lu and her efforts to care for so many lovely parrots. Â I encourage everyone to consider adopting, too. Â I’m saving my extra cages because you never know who else might come home with me! Â
