A very Happy New Year to all of you.

Miss Babs (below), and all the avians who either reside here at M.A.R.S. or have been lucky enought to find their forever families through our parrot rescue, WISH TO ALL OF YOU, A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Your generocity during our toy drive to fill our Christmas tree for the birds was a huge success. We ordered in 26 lbs of toys, all wholesale, and yes, that is a big box of toys. Thanks to you, we were able to pick out toys we knew to be favorites of many of the parrots here at M.A.R.S..

Our sincerest wish for the New Year, is all of you knowing how much we need, and appreciate your continued support. With out your donations, our rescue could not be entering into our seventh year of operation. WOW!!!!

We have a few new ways to generate much needed funds, and are fortunate to have recently registered with Amazon Smile. Please see our previous blog post for all that info. Please use it for all your Amazon purchases hopefully designating M.A.R.S. as your charity of choice.

We now have community sellers on Ebay who designate a percentage of their listings to our organization. A huge shout out to all of you for doing this. You are behind the sceens, and so important to us.

Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary, is growing, getting smarter, and all of us here at the rescue will continue to be completely dedicated to providing the best care possible to all who enter our doors. This amazing team of volunteers has never been stronger or more diversified in what each individual brings to the organization. Thank-you all.

Our New Years wish is for all of you to pass on to all you know the word of our parrot rescue and adoption organization known simply as M.A.R.S.. Thank-you for reading.

YARD SALE, FUNDRAISER for the M.A.R.S. PARROTS Dec 7th and 8th

Great news for everyone and just in time for the holidays. M.A.R.S. is having a giant sale to raise funds.

We have collected for your shopping pleasure the most amazing array of goods. There are more bargains and treasures for this sale then we’ve ever accumulated before.

From the most unusual items to the most practiical. The complete array of goods.

Art work galore, crystal, brass and silver items, jewelry, clothing for the whole family, books and cd’s, furniture,and of course numerous Christmas items and stocking stuffers. And, if you can believe it, there is still more to come

Mark the dates, we will be setting up on Friday the 6th, need volunteers who want to work and have some fun, and preview all the sale goodies while helping with the arranging. M.A.R.S. will order in delicious pizzas made locally to fortify all who help out.

A very successful show, June 30th 2013

Volunteers, without a doubt,  are the  life force of any well run non-profit endeavor.  Their  joint efforts,  in creating a well put together and inviting set-up at the recent  local bird show was nothing short of amazing to be sure.

Jane, Linda, Caren, Jill and Crystal all agreed to just go for it. The M.A.R.S. booth the ladies put  together was both colorful and lively,  and with this crew at the helm I am  positive  the information was readily flowing to anyone who ventured in to see who we were. To those who already knew us, simply to stop by, say hi, and see what”s new with M.A.R.S. and to share their personal bird experiences and stories with all of us.June 30th bird show 2013

The show also offered everyone a chance to meet a few feathered friends of M.A.R.S., and an opportunity to check out our new bumper stickers, posters, t-shirts and  other  items we are promoting to raise much needed funds for our exotic bird rescue. Promoting future events M.A.R.S. will be involved in as well,  were all an important part of this undertaking.

Fundraising with an upscale yet casual flair. August 18th 2013. “Parrots in Paradise”

What does delicious food, tasty beverages and amazing music all add up to??? A Sunday afternoon fundraiser at Davids’ Steak and Seafood, 302 Ocean Avenue right here in Melbourne Beach. The date August 18th. The time 1:00 to 4:00.

This wine, appetizer and music filled venue will benefit  M.A.R.S. (Melbourne Avian Rescue Sanctuary).

There will be  live music featuring Chuck Van Riper. A silent auction and 50/50 raffle.

The dates are the 17th and the 18th of May. That is this coming Friday and Saturday. The times 8:00 and on to????? No early birds please!!!

 

We are still accepting donations of items for resale. Call 321 725 8800 for pick-ups or e-mail marsparrots@aol.com for more how to info. We are still in need of a large tent 20 x40 would be perfect. We have 10×10’s but if it rains things do get wet including all of our shoppers.
